As many of you know, there are a lot of needs after a person and/or a family has moved. You have to get all the legal paperwork, such as car titles, moved to the new state. You need to replace things that were destroyed in the wild ride of the U-Haul. You need to fill a pantry again (thank you again for all the gift cards!). But, more than anything, you need to find some peace and happiness in the new place.
POSITION: Worship Coordinator
Job Summary
This position coordinates the many moving pieces that make up worship at Our Redeemer’s. Under the direction of the Pastor(s) and in consultation with other ministry team members, the Coordinator schedules, organizes, implements, and provides overall leadership for weekly Sunday worship services and special services, in both traditional and contemporary worship styles. This position also has additional responsibilities for overseeing the technology used during worship, live streaming of worship services, and the needs of musicians in the band.
The position requires flexibility in hours available for work, as most worship services take place in the evening and on weekends. This is a part-time, salaried position, and while the salary is based upon a projected 15 hours per week, the actual number of hours required during any given week will vary depending upon scheduled programming and at different times of the year. Yearly compensation is set at $20,000. Vacation, sick leave, and contributions to a retirement account will be allocated proportionally per Our Redeemer’s Personnel Policy.

As I write this, we are in day three of Vacation Bible School. I hope you had a chance to stop by for morning worship or just to walk through all the excitement. Almost every space in the building and a good part of the grounds outside were full of kids having a blast. Thanks to Liz Swenson (director of children and family ministry), the rest of the staff, and almost 50 volunteers who made it run like a well-oiled machine. We haven’t run the stats on the event yet, but usually 65-70% of the attendees are not members of Our Redeemer’s, making it one of our larger outreach events each year. Many of those kids we’ll never see again, but my hope is that as they drive past our campus over the years, they will remember the feeling of being welcomed and encouraged and loved by the people they met here. That is being Jesus in this place and this time, and you do it well, dear people of Our Redeemer’s.
